My team creates software that automatically identifies structures of interest in a given medical image like an MRI. For example, if a person needs a tumor removed, the doctor will use our software to identify the tumor as well as the nearby nerves & blood vessels. When we automate the identification of critical information, it can save time in treatment planning which in turn may allow for more patients to be treated. We’re integrating more & more AI into our software & that’s exciting. As the number of AI models increases, results get more accurate.”

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

When you start a new job, everyone wants to know what you’re up to every day.

Hey everyone, I’m Daniel, I joined Snke OS in 2020 as a software developer. My workday usually starts with checking emails & having a look at the latest posts in MS Teams. If there is nothing urgent to tackle & no unfinished work from the day prior, I pick a new task from our scrum board. At 10 a.m. our team regularly comes together for our daily meeting. After a little socializing, we talk about what was accomplished since the last meeting & discuss what we plan to work on until the next daily stand-up. During the day I work on my projects, attend meetings, collaborate with colleagues, conduct code reviews & try to join my coworkers in an online fitness class led by our fantastic gym instructors. I may also spend time working within a guild—one of the communities of people that are enthusiastic about a certain topic that’s essential to advancing our domains. Examples for topics are programming languages, toolkits, or concepts like containerization. Fridays we have a meeting called Software Tech Round, where one team presents their research on introducing new technologies to Snke OS, it’s exciting & helpful.

Snke OS & Fatt Father

To capture the essence of Snke OS in our very own anthem, we collaborated with Fatt Father, an American rapper. Through intense workshops with Fatt Father, where we shared the Snke OS identity — who we are & what we believe — our musical mantra was born & recorded by him & his son DJ Oreeyo at studios in Detroit, Michigan.

Fatt Father lives in Detroit & along with his solo career, he is also part of the Fat Killahz (with Marv Won, Bang Belushi & King Gordy) & Twin Towers (with Marv Won).

Fatt Father has worked with lyrical all-stars such as Royce Da 5’9”, Nolan The Ninja, Danny Brown, Slum Village, D12, Trick-Trick, Quelle Chris, Kuniva, Denmark Vessey, Guilty Simpson, Sean Price, Black Milk, Bishop Lamont, Roc Marciano, Ro Spit, Elzhi, Proof & more.
